We often talk about ‘the pleasure of ownership’, the pride our customers feel in being part of the Bang & Olufsen family. Some of that pride, I think, stems from our taking care to provide excellence not only in our store, but also in their houses, to be the best we can be.”
Bang & Olufsen of Sheffield, in tandem with it's sister stores in Lincoln and Leicester, employs seven full time service and installation personnel. Nothing, and nobody, is contracted out to third parties.
Nick explains “We do everything ourselves, and that way I am able to oversee the work, to ensure that the quality is excellent, consistent with the equipment. I’m not interested in cutting corners; it’s a cliché, but I’d rather not do it, than do it badly. Of course there is a cost attached to that, but after all these years I’m convinced it’s the right way, the best way, to do business. People have very high expectations when they walk into our store, and my job is to make sure that we deliver.”
Sales consultant, David Robshaw, says “I started working with the products when I was just a lad really, and, though the technology has obviously changed, the attention to detail and excellence still make it a pleasure to come to work”.
David drives daily from his Huddersfield home to the store in Sheffield, but wouldn’t have it any other way; “Bang & Olufsen is what I do, and I’m passionate about it. I’ve got a terrific job working in a company I believe in, so why would I want to do anything different?”
And outside of work? “Two fabulous grandchildren and Huddersfield town! It doesn’t get much better than that…”
